The MATERALIA group has been working on the characterization and modeling of phase transformations in the solid state, mainly in steels and iron-based super-alloys, since 1991. In particular, the main lines of research carried out by researchers in this group are currently the following:

  • Design and characterization (microstructural and mechanical) of high entropy alloys.
  • Kinetic and thermodynamic modeling of phase transformations in solid, iso- and aniso-thermal states, in steels.
  • Microstructural and mechanical characterization. Optimization of mechanical properties in steels and iron-based alloys.
  • Use of modeling and simulation tools applied to phase transformations in solid state, as well as to the prediction of microstructures and mechanical properties of steels and iron-based alloys.
